AOC CORBIERES – Réserve du Château
SOIL: Clay-limestone with alluvial gravels from the Quartenary era.
GRAPE VARIETIES: Grenache 35%, Syrah 25%, Carignan 25%, Mourvèdre 15%
VINIFICATION: Entirely destemmed grapes are subjected to a long temperature controlled fermentation of 28 days with daily manual knocking-down. Each grape variety is vinified separately in stainless steel tanks.
AGEING: 60% for 12 months in one-wine barrels.
YIELD: 30 hl/ha
A blend of the best grape verities of the appellation, Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Mourvèdre. A year in barrels for half the blend gives a subtle hint of oak. Known for the quality of its vinification, the Réserve is a strong and full-bodied, yet fruity wine with great depth and freshness. Decant beforehand to further improve it.
STORAGE POTENTIAL: up to 10 years.
