AOC CORBIERES – Réserve Cuvée Marie-Annick
SOIL: Clay-limestone with alluvial gravels from the Quartenary era.
GRAPE VARIETIES: Syrah 35%, Grenache 30%, Mourvèdre 20%, Carignan 15%
VINIFICATION: Entirely destemmed grapes are gently pressed before temperature controlled fermentation for 28 days with daily (manual) knocking-down. Each grape variety is vinified separately in stainless steel tanks.
AGEING: 80 % for 12 months in one-wine barrels.
YIELD: 30 hl/ha
Only made during excellent years such as 1998, 2001 et 2003. The Réserve is used to enrich barrels of syrah and mourvèdre unused when the Réserve is already rich enough. This wine in no more oaked than the Réserve but has more depth and volume. This is a wine for laying down to give it time to develop. Decanting before drinking will further improve it.
STORAGE POTENTIAL: 10 to 15 years.
